Virginia Beach utilizes VBAlert to inform citizens and visitors when there is a public safety situation or other major city event.
 
If this is an EMERGENCY, please call 911. To report a non-emergency, please call (757) 385-5000. Non-emergencies include, but are not limited to, abandoned vehicles, and traffic violations. For all nuisance calls to include noise and fireworks complaints please call 311 24/7; if you are outside of the City of Virginia Beach call 757-385-3111.

Animal Control:
To have an Animal Control Officer respond to a call for service, call dispatch at (757) 385-4444 and select “Option #1.” Animal Control Officers are on routine patrol from 7 a.m. - 11 p.m., seven days a week. There is also an officer on stand-by duty after 11 p.m. to respond to emergency calls for service only. When calls are received, a Communications Officer dispatches an Animal Control Officer to investigate complaints. Visit VB's Animal Control page  Rabid Animals page.
